Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Moshi

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to Moshi. Meet your guides for a briefing and gear check. Overnight in a hotel in Moshi.

Day 2Moshi to Lushoto

Drive from Moshi to Lushoto, a charming town in the Usambara Mountains. Enjoy the scenic drive through the Tanzanian countryside. Overnight in a lodge in Lushoto.

  • Travel Time: 4-5 hours

Day 3Lushoto to Mtae

Trek from Lushoto to the village of Mtae. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the valleys and ridges along the way. Overnight in a local guesthouse.

  • Elevation: 1,400m to 1,800m
  • Distance: 16 km
  • Hiking Time: 6-7 hours

Day 4Mtae to Mambo

Continue your trek to the village of Mambo. Pass through lush forests and small villages, interacting with the local community. Overnight in a lodge in Mambo.

  • Elevation: 1,800m to 1,900m
  • Distance: 12 km
  • Hiking Time: 5-6 hours

Day 5Mambo to Lushoto

Trek back to Lushoto, taking a different route to explore more of the stunning landscapes and biodiversity of the Usambara Mountains. Overnight in a lodge in Lushoto.

  • Elevation: 1,900m to 1,400m
  • Distance: 18 km
  • Hiking Time: 6-7 hours

Day 6Lushoto to Moshi, Departure

Drive back to Moshi, reflecting on your trekking adventure. Arrive in Moshi for departure or an overnight stay if needed.
